I was very excited to find these pictures of our three oldest tigers when they were cubs - just a bit older than Raja is now. These were taken when Larry Allen Dean owned the cats, residing at Horseshoe Creek Wildlife.
Kali when she was about a year old, before Casey owned her. The shape of her nose and markings on her face are unquestionable. She also has that same look in her eye...
It appears Larry was seat training Jai in this picture. It is crazy how much they look the same but different at the same time after four or five years.
Thank you Larry for sharing these pictures and allowing me to post them on the blog.
As an final thought, if you are able to please check out the recent review of the Kelly Miller Circus in Circus Report. John Hart submitted a thorough rundown and opinion of the show while we traveled Ohio. Often I am disappointed in the publication's printed reviews, most of which gush over every show and christen them all as the best, amazing, fantastic, etc, though many of these are far from the adjectives that portray the general consensus. It seems as if the circus fans writing such reports only want to portray everything in a positive light and have no desire to criticize. However, there is also the other end of the spectrum, such as SlowBuzz Dave, who offers some good criticism but infused with cheap shot remarks posing no significance other than revealing the spiteful nature of such a writer, one of whom had written reviews and exposed a seeming obsession with a show for years prior without seeing the show. This is no better nor worse than the previous review of KM in Circus Report where a few suck up comments regarding a few individuals was submitted, even though many of the names were horribly butchered, acts misbilled and most of the show not even mentioned! Another spiteful nature I suppose. On a more positive note, eveyone please check out the great pictures submitted recently to Buckle's Blog of America's One Ring Wonder, submitted by Jimmy Cole and Paul Gutheil.
