Steady Build Up...

Well our first night showing to the public here in McAllen
Little more then half a house first show
Maybe 3/4 a house the second
Good crowd
They even clapped for the tigers....haha

Some visitors from the valley last night
Barbara Hoffman and Fred Lulling came by to see the show
Barbara and her late husband had a cat act
Fred is a sideshow performer with great fire skills who goes by Mephisto

Jai was still wound pretty tight for the first show
Had it mostly worked out by the second
TSC (Farm store for those who don't know) got over on me yesterday
I went for shavings (which they have the worst of usually)
Natalie wanted me to pick her up a wagon for hauling the dogs in and out of the tent
I find the wagon, price tag says $64.95....
I haul the wagon up front with the rest of my junk....
Girl rings up everything on register....
I see something that says $15.00 labor....
I inquire....
The girl then proceeds to tell me that the wagon has a charge for assembly. I tell her I will take one not assembled then. Turns out they have already assembled all the wagons they have, so that thwarts that plan. I pointed out maybe it should say something about the service charge back where the wagons are parked. I then remember this girl obviously had nothing to do with any of this besides collecting the money.

And I cave...
I buy the wagon and pay the ding...
Now I have something else heavy to load everyday
LUCKY ME!

Doug sent me this article from the Birmingham Al. newspaper where they have somehow lost the phone number of the elephant they used for their last Aida Opera. I was reading it thinking it was a funny thing for Doug to send me, until I saw the picture and remembered that I was there with the last elephant they used 4 or 5 years ago. I had picked up Kamba from Doug in Alexandria LA and used her for the four days while he was using Moxie and Congo for the shrine circus in Alexandria.

Check out the picture
I somehow didn't fit in there

Casey-
The best shavings in the Valley or anyplace else for that matter...
Martin's feed, Edinburg...they deliver
$7.00 a bag but one bag is like three or four...last time I had shavings this nice was in Canada!
The store is on Monte Cristo just off the 281. Feed prices are OK and they carry hay if horses or elephants need...
