For here, two towns a week is tougher then one day stands back home. Tear down was 10 hours last town and set up here in this town was a day and a half...
Too much seven days a week practice. Animals get weiry and hard to keep interest. Same as people. We have always trained five days and on Sat. just a review of the five days. rest on sunday. always on monday they were rested and ready to go, on friday they werte starting to get weiry. [can't spell weiry]
I defer to the greater experience that you both have over us here Down Under. However, in my more limited experience I think that you are both right.
My experience with ungulates has been that they get stale - their brains get clogged up a bit. Give them a spell for a while, they have time to think things through and then they work well.
Cats are different - little and often seems to work best for them.
I'm with John Milton on this. Sitting in quarters, I practiced 6 days a week, one practice a day with the group and one practice a day for new behaviors. To much makes them weary, slow, and inattentive and not responding immediately.
The act currently on the show working, has done so twice a day 7 day's a week for the past 10 years and is slower then cold syrup. Grass actually grows faster. :) I noted the same thing years ago when I was at Marineland, doing shows daily with no down time. They became slow, didn't listen as well, and were almost robotic in doing the act.
I currently practice, on the show, once a day for an hour and a half 6 day's a week. The first half hour is their time, to play and do as they want before schooling starts. I have found over the years animals do better and retain more of an interest if they have at least one day of down time, not being told what, when and where to do something. We move once every 4 weeks, and when we move 4 day's are lost. We close Tue. night move Wen. and set up commences Wen. finishing in time for the 4:00 show on Friday. As it is "my" policy not to practice on move out day or opening day, one week of the month I only practice 2 day's a week, Sat. and Monday. I have noted the animals are fresher and have more desire and "want to" after the move and 4 day's off, and I noted the same thing at winter quarters after the one off day. It is important to make training something they "miss" doing, and not something they "have" to do. Often time's folks will practice, because they have nothing better to do, while waiting for the first show of the day.
Because you are a nobody nitwit. That's why it instinctively posts anonymous!!!! Putz, I answer and the line goes dead. Initially I thought, "damn a lion must have snatched him. He should have called earlier before it got that bad." :) I am usually busy when you call, but as you are my friend, I quick jump out of the jacuzzi and go to a better location and call back. All I get is that candy ass opera music recording(What's up with that? Adam uses the same music to identify me calling. Why don't you two use something more appropriate like "Hail to the Chief?"
I will consider changing it to Motley Crue's "Girls, Girls,Girls" since I'm sure you're busy chasing every 40 plus latina south of Juarez. No cat emergency. But got a couple horse and camel ?'s
"40 plus!!!!!!" You must be referring to breast size, pal. I actually met a real nice 25 year old last month named Antonia. So far so good, but I don't know how it will work out. It is a lot like living with Adam again. :) When I get up set, I ground her and send her to her room, and she get's angry and goes home. Young folks aren't as respectful as they were in my day.
I will try to call tomorrow after practice. I assume I start a lot earlier then you.
What is an SIM card? For some reason when I try to place a call, a deal pops up that says "No SIM card installed" and won't let the call go through. I never installed anything, so why is it telling me I don't have something. You'll have to try reaching me. Stupid technology!!!!!!
I just tried to call it is going straight to your voicemail. Open back of your phone. Take out the battery. There should be a small rectangular card the size of your pinky finger name slid in under it. Pull it out, blow it off (might be dusty) slide it back in the same way it came out. Your phone will work then.
Come one, Casey. I don't know how to open the back of my phone. I know how to turn it on and off. I can't text, I can't email, I can only call if the number is pre programed in the phone(which the tech at the store did for me before I left the Colonies.) If not, I can't call because I don't know how to dial. And now I have to find someone to open it? Geez.......

TWO towns a week????? Wow! Need a hand? LOL.
Pictures from the lot are fine - maybe even better!

It only effects me in the fact that I lose out on practice average 3 days a week
And as most the readers here know, I am all about practice 2 times a day EVERYDAY of the week

With cats I have never had that problem.

Ok. I got an 9 hour head start with time difference. I don't start training till 6 AM though.

I don't know about any voicemails, I don't know how to check them.
I'm sure Antonio can figure it out. Unground him long enough to clear your voicemail, and re insert your SIM card..... Uh... I mean her...
"A" not "O", Antonia not Antonio. One little, measly typo and you slough my good name world wide!!!!!! Thanks, pal.
