

Sedan also holds the Emmett Kelly Museum, dedicated to the world famous clown. His character "Weary Willie" personified the hobos of the Depression era. He performed a fourteen year stint on the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus from the 1940s-50s and played himself in Cecil B. DeMille's "The Greatest Show on Earth" (1952).


A great painting of a billpost outside the Emmett Kelly Museum depicted "An Army of Clowns" from the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus. Casey found that I had a striking resemblance to the character with the mohawk.
