Who Knew in Kansas?

Sedan, Kansas, is famous for the largest Yellow Brick Road in America - over 10600 bricks circle the downtown area. Each one features an individuals name (veterans, celebrities, and circus king DR Miller included) or locations (every state of the Union and 28 foreign countries). In this Wizard of Oz-themed gift shop, visitors are encouraged to mark their visit by signing the wall. Steve and Ryan created a clown gag out of the process, entertaining our hostess there.

Sedan also holds the Emmett Kelly Museum, dedicated to the world famous clown. His character "Weary Willie" personified the hobos of the Depression era. He performed a fourteen year stint on the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus from the 1940s-50s and played himself in Cecil B. DeMille's "The Greatest Show on Earth" (1952).

A great painting of a billpost outside the Emmett Kelly Museum depicted "An Army of Clowns" from the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus. Casey found that I had a striking resemblance to the character with the mohawk.
