Weekly Hind Leg Report

I am thinking I will post video footage of the hind leg walking tigers I am training every week, so to be critiqued and maybe teach some others about the training of these behaviors.

This video is of Jai. She has been moving forward on two feet for approx. 5 weeks. She is doing well, although being very lazy by nature, and slightly over weight, she needs lots of practice to fine tune it.

The next video is Sumsara. She has been walking backwards in a straight line for about 3 weeks. She is doing very good. With this tiger I am trying to work on her staying up on her feet not sliding on her back elbows, and starting to turn her so she will eventually walk in a circle.

He's got the fire and the fury, at his command
Don't have to worry, if you hold on to Jesus hand
We'll all be safe from Satan, when the thunder rolls
But we gotta keep the devil, way down in the hole

I never hear the word good. When the tiger is executing the behavior, or is this one of those mind reading cats, lack of negative is positive. I see the visual and tactile Stimulus, but don't hear the audible. What is the command for this behavior. Hope you have different for forward and back. Seems like you are using a lot of visual, which is better than tactile stimuli.

The command is up, for both cats. If you watch the top video again you will hear whoa, then sit high, then good after she hops to the rite spot. That being the end of the behavior. Then I reach down and give her a pat on the head. The second cat didn't get the good or pat on the head because, if you look close when I say sit high, she is leaning over. Instead she got a tap on the foot until she sat high, then received the good and pat on head.

C dawg, Read my critigue again. I said I never hear "good" for bridge/timing for positive reinforcement DURING the execution of behavior. Still didn't tell me the diff. command for forward and back. Then again maybe these are mind reading cats. You come from the Ugo area where that kind of thing has been done for years. Thought you could keep up my friend! Maybe, I am on the wrong blog.

Mike,
Hugo????
You and your celebrity status have much more in common with Huggo then my cat act, lol. The cats don't have an audible bridge, it is visual. Also the command to go forward or backward is visual. If I cock my shoulder down toward the animal it will come toward me. If I put the whip up and in between myself and the cat it moves backward. As far as being on the wrong blog...well... I will try to find you one that explains how to install a spell checker and east TX. hillbillickin translator, I'll get back to you on your,,uh,,,critigue,,,later. Good choice on abbreviating different though, when in doubt on the spelling always abbreviate,,,lol

Hey C dawg, Forgive my spelling, I do live in east tx. I forgot the h and you added an extra g. You don't use the word good when the cat is executing the behavior for reinforcement, or you don't use at all, or just not for this behavior? I think you or in over head. Let me explain the visual is a form of stimulus. The good would be a positve reinforcement to let cat know he/she is doing the right thing. If the animal is executing the right thing. Then let them know. Since the C and M elephants You have gotten a little bit of a clue on this training thing.

For those reading this blog, who may or may not know, Casey and I have known each other for over a decade, and are just giving each other a hard time. We both have a lot of respect for each other as animal guys and as a person.
